Lent is my favorite liturgical season, albeit sad and downright depressing.  In my human condition, I loathe the wait.  Luckily, I know what is to come.  The quilted side of the stole uses three different materials representing the three who were crucified on that mournful day as well as hope provided us through the Holy Trinity.   The three crosses are a visualization of the scene of the crime.  I have often placed myself at the foot of that cross and looking up.  It drives me crazy.
